Ron Muhitch  Head Coach / Defensive Coordinator – Varsity

Coach Muhitch is the Head Football Coach/Defensive Coordinator at Wheaton-Warrenville South High School with a 131-55 Record the last 16 years. Coach Muhitch has 3 IHSA State Championships (2006, 2009, 2010), 2 IHSA Runner up Finishes (2007, 2011) and 2 IHSA Semi Finalist (2004, 2005). Coach Muhitch has garnered the 2011 National Federation High School (NFHS) Coach of the Year Honors. The Chicago Bears Illinois High School Coach of the Year Honors (2006). He’s been awarded the IHSA Sportsmanship Award (2010, 2011). Coach was Defensive Coordinator at Wheaton Central/Wheaton-Warrenville South HS for 22 years and IHSA State Championships (1992, 1995, 1996, 1998) and had IHSA Runner up Finishes (1990, 1991). Coach Muhitch was the Physical Education/Wellness Chair at Wheaton-Warrenville South HS from 1988-2014. Coach is married to Sheri.

 

Sean Norris   Offensive Coordinator – Varsity

Coach Norris will be entering his 6th season coaching at Wheaton Warrenville South as the Varsity Offensive Coordinator. Previously Coach Norris was the Wide Receivers coach and JV Offensive Coordinator and first year as the Passing Game Coordinator. Coach Norris helped lead the JV team to its third DVC Championship is as many years.

Coach Norris joins the Tigers after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at perennially nationally ranked Wheaton College. During his tenure at Wheaton College he assisted the Thunder to one conference championship and two NCAA Division III Playoffs berths while being a part of an offense that ranked in the top 10 in the country in multiple categories. As a player, Norris quarterbacked Wheaton College to a NCAA Division III Regional Championship in 2008 and a conference championship while setting multiple school records during his four year career.

Sean received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Wheaton College and is currently working on a Master’s Degree in Special Education at Aurora University. Sean works as a Paraprofessional in Special Education at Wheaton Warrenville South.

 

Craig Arthurs  Defensive Line Coach – Varsity

Craig Arthurs / Defensive Line Coach – Varsity.  Craig is in his 14th year with the Tiger Football Staff, and previously coached Defensive Line and Special Teams for the Sophomore squad. Craig majored in Business Administration at Purdue University, and is employed in the Education and Government market as a Account Executive. Craig and his wife Lauri, have been married for 18 years and have 4 sons – Christopher, Zachary, Nicholas and Jacob.

 

 

Jim Vivian  Offensive Line Coach – Varsity

Jim Vivian is in his 16th year with the Tiger Football Staff. Jim coaches the O-Line for the Varsity program.  Jim graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1979 and played tight end for the Tigers. He went on to graduate from Greenville college in 1983 where he was a 4 year starter for the Panther baseball team. Jim graduated from Aurora university in 2004 with a Masters in Teaching. Currently Jim is a Physical Education Teacher at Wheaton-Warrenville South High School. He is married to his wife Sandy and has 3 children Logan, Turner and Avery. He resides in Batavia, IL with his family.

 

 

Mike Urbik   Volunteer Offensive Line Coach – Varsity

Coach Urbik’s career spans 37 years, beginning in youth football in Elmhurst in 1981, Hinsdale in 1982-84, Wheaton St. Michael’s Head JV Coach, 1997-1998, Head Varsity Coach 1999. Wheaton Rams Assistant and Head Coach 2000-2002. I joined the Tigers in 2003 as an Assistant Varsity Offensive Line Coach and became the Varsity Offensive Line Coach in 2009. Coach Urbik is married to Katy for 38 years and have 7 sons, with one more Tiger left. The Fall of 2014 will mark Coach Urbik’s 16th season with the Tigers. Football is a game that teaches many of life’s lessons. You play it a short time, and spend the rest of your life wishing you still could. Enjoy it and your teammates while you’re playing this special game.

 

Sam VanHeest Linebacker’s Coach – Varsity

Coach Sam VanHeest will be entering his 6th season coaching at Wheaton-Warrenville South, serving as the Varsity Linebackers Coach. Prior to coaching at WWS, Coach VanHeest attended Wheaton College where he was a two-year starter and 2nd Team All-Conference Linebacker as well as a team captain during his senior season. He is a Michigan native, where he attended Grand Haven High School and earned All-Conference and All-State recognition during his senior season. Coach VanHeest graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education, and currently teaches Mathematics at WWS.

 

Andrew Schweitzer Defensive Back Coach – Varsity

Coach Andrew Schweitzer is entering his 9th year of coaching at Wheaton-Warrenville South. Coach Schweitzer coaches the Varsity Defensive Backs. Prior to joining the staff at WWS, Coach Schweitzer was an assistant defensive back coach at Augustana College, where he was also a four-year letter winner and two-year starter at cornerback. Coach Schweitzer is a Wheaton native and was a team captain and All-DVC selection at Wheaton North. Tim Brylka  Quarterbacks Coach – Varsity

Coach Brylka enters his 19th year on staff at WWS. He has coached defensive backs as well as head freshman coach and is now at the QB Coach at Varsity level. Coach Brylka graduated from Millikin University where he played football and baseball. Coach Brylka is the Millikin University All-Time Records in Passing Yards and Touchdown Passes and is in their Hall of Fame. Coach is thrilled to be working at WWS where he attended and graduated in 1997 having played football winning 2 State Championships ’95 & ’96, baseball and basketball for four years and is a member of the WWS Hall of Fame. Coach Brylka is married to Kristy and they have three children: Joanna (6), Casey (3) and Virginia (1).

 

Jack VanDiver  Strength Coach – Varsity

 

Nate Weibye Head Coach – Sophomore

   

Sophomore Head Coach Weibye is in his 8th year with the Tiger Football Staff, and previously coached Wide Receivers and Special Teams for the Sophomore squad. Nate earned his Bachelors of Science in Materials Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and now runs his own manufacturer’s rep agency. Nate and his wife Jennifer, have been married for 20 years and have 3 daughers – Cora, Ella, and Ava.

 

Joe Nakis Head Coach – Freshmen

Freshmen Head Coach Joe Nakis is in his 6th year at Wheaton-Warrenville South coaching at the freshmen level. Prior to arriving at WWS, Coach Nakis was the offensive and defensive line coach at Maine South High School on the sophomore and freshmen levels from 2010-2013. Coach Nakis received his undergrad from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and his master’s degree in Education from DePaul University. He and his wife, Siohban married in April 2014.
